Spreads into large and compact swaths

We have developed a very powerful HD50 spreading rake, which effectively distributes the straw from a 40-foot swath.

Advantage

Our spreader is designed to efficiently distribute wet straw and grass from a 50-foot full-width swath.

SPREADER

At LykkeSmeden, we have developed a heavy duty spreader that efficiently distributes straw and grass from a 50-foot swath in full width.

To achieve the right quality, the straw often has to be shredded a day or two after it has been harvested. A heavy rainstorm may require the straw to be spread out to get it dry again. And this is where our HD50 spreader rake becomes topical.

Traditional turners are effective at turning wide-spread material, but are not designed to pull a 30 or 40-foot swath of wet straw apart. Therefore, we developed our own heavy-duty turner with two powerful rotors. The model designation HD50 stands for heavy-duty, and that the implement can spread a 50-foot swath in full width. The working and transport width is a little over four meters.

It is equipped with very powerful rake springs in 16 millimeter spring steel. The arms of the two rotors are produced in 30×60 millimeter flat steel, and the rake spring is mounted with 16 millimeter bolts.

The rake is pulled through a T-gear and two angular gears. The gears are with obliquely cut gears and in order to be able to angle the rake wheels, a gimbal cross is mounted between the T-gear and the two angular gears. The transmission is protected by a sliding coupling in the PTO shaft.

Under normal conditions, the working speed is approximately 15 km/h with the spreader and the spreading width can be controlled with the revolutions of the power take-off. The spreader is mounted in the tractor’s three-point hitch and is carried by two wheels behind the rotors. The wheels can be adjusted in height, and since the top bar is mounted in an elongated hole, it is possible to adjust the working height during work.
